6. We specialize in music lessons for beginners and children!

Many schools have an intimidating university style curriculum taught by instructors who would rather be performing than teaching. Our NUMBER ONE priority is helping St. Thomas area music students achieve their musical goals. We can teach a beginner at any age from 3 to 93!  If you’re an adult beginner, or are looking for music lessons for your children, or even an adult who wants to get back into lessons, we are happy to teach you!  To insure that you or your child grow consistently, we provide incentives like our Young Musicians Practice Pledge, and Musical Ladder System  wristband rewards.

7. We also cater to intermediate and advanced students.

We offer instrument instruction for all levels – beginners, intermediate and advance students. We look for innovative and special opportunities to help our students learn to their highest ability, including workshops and Master Classes.

8. A parent's/student's sitting area for our clients.

With over 4,000 square feet we offer a parent and student friendly waiting area.  Our parents and and children enjoy a sitting area with comfortable chairs, flat screen TV that features valuable music information, music school literature, children's books, access to water cooler and restrooms.  We are also very open to allowing parents, who's children are having a private lesson, to sit in on their child’s lesson anytime they like.

Our music rooms are stocked with everything you need for music lessons, including instruments, amps, sound systems, full drum kits with pads, keyboards, pianos and more.  All you need to bring is yourself...and be ready to learn.

Technology is also a big part of lessons at G-Clef Music Academy.  We use music notation software to create sheet music, as well as arrange songs to specifically tailor them for our student singers and musicians.  This allows students to perform to their highest potential with the support of modern equipment and the most up-to-date music software.  Feel free to "Bring Your Own Device" to your lesson to plug into our sound systems. Qualified students perform in our Annual Grande Recital Week is held in June in our very own G-Clef Music Hall.

For our students these recitals are free and unlike many schools in St. Thomas we do not charge recital participation or admission fees.

The Musical Ladder is our unique music education reward system that you can only get here!

More importantly when our students have a test coming up, they practice more, their parents are proud, their teachers are proud, and everybody wins. You can only get the Musical Ladder rewards here. Reasons Why MUSIC
is GOOD BRAIN FOOD
In the mind of a child, going back to school means summer is officially over, so there may be some since of loss and sadness.  If you prepare your child early for school, then the transition will be a lot more easier to handle.  Here are a few good tips we found at teachhub.com  The website article gives 10 tips that will help children and parents get READY for their first day back to school.

1. Get back into your sleep routine. Reduce stress by setting up a regular bedtime and morning wake-up time routine.  To better prepare your children for school, begin your child's usual school sleep routine about a week or so before school starts.

2. Shop for school supplies together. To get your child excited about starting a new grade, shop for supplies together. Allow them to pick out their own backpack, lunchbox, etc.  They'll also learn the value of making good quality purchases.

3. Re-establish school routines. Have your child practice getting back into the rhythm of their daily school routine. You can do this by having them wake up at the same time every day, and eat around the same time they would at school.  These routines will help your child learn to be disciplined.  G-Clef Music Academy is encouraging you to add music education to your child's schedule, which will strengthen them in so many ways, including self-esteem.  Establishing a routine of attending music lessons, as well as practicing at home will enhance your child's school experience!

4.  Set up a homework station. Sit down with your child and together designate a time and place where he can do his homework each day.
